ALBUM FACTS AND TRIVIA

There isn’t much back story for this cd in general since it is just a collection of random scraps, but here’s some interesting stories behind some of the songs:

Hit The Dirt” marks the first, but certainly not the last, collaboration between MadHatter and the Canadian terrorist organization known as The Killaz in 2005. Hatter lines up some wicked lines about nuclear destruction alongside futuristic weapons dealer Des and the lethal but seductive baroness Stacy. This is also the first time Scrub Club burger joint favorite Bomber Burger is mentioned, and this won’t certainly be the last time either, haha. This was only released online, as it was just to flex everyone’s skills at the time. Unfortunately, the final product isn’t mixed quite as well as it could be, but it’s still a solid track.

Self Inflict” is the first collaboration between the crazy Wichita rapper known as Mike Game and MadHatter. This track deals with all of the lame-ass copycat Soulja Boy / 50 Cent assholes in Wichita and general disrespect towards other falseness going on every day in the 316.

Do It To Youis a sexy little track off of the debut album from the Heightened Titans, which consists of The Ranger, TYT, Whoremoans, and other guest emcees. TYT asked Hatter to rip up a verse, and it was a match made in the Garden of Heaven. Hatter is a total nut about Greek / Roman mythology, so he fits just about as much of that as he can into his verse. See if you can catch all the references!

Scrubby Anthem” is by former Scrub Club artist Anna Wrex, and it’s all about the daily struggle for all Scrubs out there. If you listen to this one, you’ll definitely relate. It also marks the transformation of her flow and how much she improved in just a little over a year.

For The Nerds” was recorded live during the open mic segment of the Sinister Six release party at Zoomdweebie’s in Wichita, Kansas. Deafinition spouts some love for what we really are both deep down AND on the surface: Nerds.

Kill Hit” was another track by Anna Wrex, discussing all of her… well… favorite past-times.

In My Skin” is a noise-heavy production by Minute Robot with a guest verse by Hatter in 6/8ths time. It doesn’t get much stranger than this, folks. Originally, there were talks of creating a whole EP of such madness, but difficulties in communication halted the project. Maybe some day…

Sing And Piss” is a prime example of why you should never leave the mic on when not recording a song. Complete your audio experience today by taking in all the wonderful sounds of Chester’s singing, his stream of urine, and even a flush.

01,” “02,” “03,” and “04” are completely random-ass adventures brought to you by Farturo Fartushenko (secretly otherwise known as DJ CutterJ) and a friend. These four tracks were meant for an odd EP release, which was to be labeled “an avantgarde trumpet album.” Truly a creepy and hilarious journey into… well… nothing. You’ve never heard anything like it.

Dino Sores,” Dumped,” The Fall Of Shinra,” and Strung Outwere all diss tracks made by the Rubiks Dudes (MadHatter and MC Gigahertz) in the first Rhymetorrents.org 2v2 Battle Tournament in 2008. These hilarious songs led them all the way to the end of the tourney, where they beat out all other teams hands-down with all votes going for them and none for their opponents. Both brutal and silly stuff. The epic round against Team Shinra (ZeaLouS1 and Maja) was regarded as the most entertaining battle in the entire tournament, even more so than the final match.

Captain Dan Is A Punk.” Want to argue that point with Kabuto? Be my guest.

Puppet Love” is one of MadHatter’s oldest unused instrumentals dating back to 2001, where it was slated to be on the first Shadow Puppets album “Eye4AnEye.” What can be more disturbing than a sex track about vigilante puppets? Not much, methinks.

Worst Nightmare” was originally a beat in 2002 that would end up being the solo track on the original Tensix album called “Meet The Dub” for former Scrub Club member Double O Ninja. After his split from the label, the beat was once again waiting for a new voice to pair up with.

It’s All Plus” was a beat in 2003 that was eventually meant for Hatter’s second solo album “Oliver Heights.” Since the album was put aside, so was this beat. It was never even written for.

Kinky” is an instrumental that just begs to be put in a porn from the early 90s. It was made in 2004 and was going to be used in the trashed 2005 Valentines Day “Whoremoans” EP as a track between Hatter and Wichita rapper XV. Once again, the album was put away for good, and so was the beat.

Tetherball Pole” was created in 2005 and is named such because of the sweet clanging sounds that make the flow of the music. It was originally used for a now defunct Sinister Six song called “Indeed.”

Stomp It” is the most recent unused beat by Hatter, and it’s a dark and evil one that came from a dark and evil day in 2007. Never really meant to do anything but relieve some stress, only the chorus was written before the song was scrapped for being too venomous.

ALBUM FACTS AND TRIVIA

There isn’t much backstory for this cd in general since it is just a collection, but here’s some interesting stories behind some of the songs:

Get Live Intro” is the current concert opening track for Scrub Club Records live shows. It may sound like a hundred people chanting the chorus, but it was actually just 6 guys including the studio engineer Tommy Carlyle going apeshit.

Scrubby Boy” was made after Hatter had forgotten to bring any cds with him to work, and after hearing the extremely shitty song “Crank That” on the radio four times in one day, something snapped. He came home and immediately wrote the track out and recorded it the next day in about an hour. He even had an entire choreographed dance to this song during one of their live shows, but you wouldn’t necessarily have called it magnificent.

Issues,” “What Love?,” “Crawling Back,” and “Freedumbwere all tracks that were going to land on former Scrub Club artist Wookie’s first solo album “From The Heart,” but that album was scrapped after Wookie disappeared one day and never came back.

Good As It Gets” shows serious progress from former Scrub Club artist anna rexia, who is always mutating and developing her cadence and style. It was going tobe on her first EP “No, You Can’t Watch,” but that project was scrapped to make way for her full-length release… which also got scrapped when she left the label.

Scram” was a diss track pointed at the former nerdcore emcee MC Router. A racist comment made by her ignited a fire in Hatter and several other people, and when she refused to apologize and remove herself from a message board inhabited by them all, he wrote this song to bring everything to light. She came back with a retort, but it was a horrible drum and bass parody of “Crank That,” which Hatter had already touched on. Regardless of everyone’s racial and social ethics, the majority of people that have listened to both tracks agree: Scram stomped MC Router. Shortly afterwards, she quit Hip Hop and moved to Electronica / chip bending instead.

Scrub Club Megamix” is the incredible, first-ever live mix DJ CutterJ had recorded. That being said, it’s even more impressive.

Jus A Rascal” (Live-O Laid Back Remix) and “Never Leave You” (Take It Deeper Remix) were made by MadHatter in anticipation of his second mix cd “Rewind and Refresh: Volume Two,” but that album was scrapped due to other projects being much more important.

Baby Got Ass” was a hilarious track to goof off on. The girl part you hear “Yeah! Yeah! Hell yeah!” is in fact only one girl and about five guys, hahaha. Lord almighty. It was never released due to over-the-top silliness.

The Joys Of Recording” is just a collection of recording bloopers from when C.O.S. was laying down his vocals for the song “Deeper,” which is on Noncents Vol. 1. We all had a good laugh because ALL of us are like this when we record, even the superstars you listen to.

Shitty, Random, Bored came about when former Scrub Club artist Big Stephen was messing around one day, and actually came up with a listenable track! Check out all of the scrubby references.

Eye4AnEye” was the very first song Hatter had ever wrote and also the first track he and bandmate Wicket Slang had ever recorded. It was also Hatter’s first time mixing vocals. As you can tell, this ancient recording is not the best, and was done with a $6 Logitech computer microphone with a sock pulled over it for a pop stopper! This was also the fan favorite at the time, and the crowd would sing along to the chorus. At their first show, Burt from the rock band The Used listened to the cd in their car a few times and ended up in front of the stage, singing it as well. It was a blast.

Riches To Rags” was the second song Hatter and Wicket wrote and recorded together with a group of their buddies in disrespect to Eastborough, a small rich neighborhood in Wichita that claims to be its own city and doesn’t like Wichitans passing through. Also an ancient, horrible track, this was the first beat MadHatter ever made.

ALBUM FACTS AND TRIVIA

There isn’t much backstory for this cd in general since it is just a collection, but here’s some interesting stories behind some of the songs:

Doomed,” “Way Back,” “Brackish,” and “Rednecks” were all tracks that were made for MadHatter’s second solo album “Oliver Heights,” but due to that project being put off for other planned group albums, the cd was scrapped.

Cut Your Grass” was a track that was going to be on Hyper Sniper’s album “The Savage” when he was an artist on Scrub Club Records.

Deeper” and “Eight Scrubs” were both going to be on a album from the supergroup “8up” which members consisted of MadHatter, anna rexia, former Scrub Club artists C.O.S., Wookie, Shai, Jorro, and CK, and the head of A Squared Records, Doc. Due to a label split, however, this awesome idea was trashed.

Way Back” was the first time local Wichita artist D.R.E. had recorded in a professional studio. The chorus to the song was made up on the spot.

Nowhere” was written by TNA, or Twitch ‘N’ Acid, a group formerly on Scrub Club Records in 2003. Only three songs were ever recorded before they left the label to do their own thing, and they were done on the famous $6 mic with a sock as a pop filter. This is the only track that has been recovered since then, and was it definitely their freshest. If only it was recorded on professional equipment… This group is now currently known as “Side FX.”

Lost In The Madness” was the first-ever collaboration MadHatter had done, and his first with Hyper Sniper. It was done completely online by sending parts back and forth.

Who Am I” is a rough collaboration track, but MadHatter still has the ability to throw in nerdy references like Kirby’s Dreamland, Silicon Valley, and the Kingpin, Wilson Fisk.

Fuck(ed) The Police” was anna rexia’s submission for a Valentine’s Day EP called “Whoremoans.” That small cd was also going to have the hits “One Nut Stand” by CK, “Strung Up” by the Shadow Puppets, “Only The Cool Boys Kiss” by Shai and anna rexia, and a sexy track by MadHatter and XV. Due to missed deadlines by former Scrub Club artists at the time, the project was scrapped.

MDLT” was the first time former Scrub Club artist C.O.S. ever recorded.

A Scrub Club Christmas” was the first time anna rexia ever recorded. Also the only song by Scrub Club that may feature 3-part harmony, haha.

3am Freestyle” was recorded in 2003 when MadHatter was bored and up late. He doesn’t particularly care for it, but some people that have heard it before recommended this spontaneous freestyle poem for this album.
