Due to an overwhelming response to our not-so-hopeful Nerdapalooza announcement last week, we must once again be amazed in the presence of you – our amazing fans, friends, and business partners who keep our machine oiled and running. When we told you that several artists from Scrub Club Records wouldn’t be able to make it to Nerdapalooza this year, you took quick action, showing us just how important it is that SCR rocks one of the freshest geek reunions and just how possible it is that your power can help get us there.

Financial struggles are no stranger to most of our artists, and that usually leaves travel to performing out of the equation unless a promoter pays our way there, or we have enough donations to spread towards getting to the venue. This year is no exception, even with the giant rise Scrub Club has been making so far in 2010, we’re still not-for-profit and giving away all of our music for free. We’ve been offered performance time at Nerdapalooza in July, but they didn’t have enough budget to get us there. When y’all heard that, several people went into action, and we couldn’t be more thankful.

So, like I said, due to popular demand, we will be trying our damndest to make it to Nerdapalooza. A good number of us are already going, but some of us have no chance unless we build up enough donations to make it so. There are currently three main efforts that are going on right now, and I’d love to point them out if you’d like to lend a hand to help put together another set of mind-blowing Scrub performances this year at NAPSE.

First up, there’s the raffle going on to bring the rap chimera – Dr. Awkward – to Nerdapalooza, care of the GeekPeekPost and GameMusic4All! Tickets to this raffle are $10 apiece, but right now they are having an online special where the first ticket is $10 and each additional ticket is $5! What can you win in this raffle? Tons of merchandise from Nerdcore greats such as MC Frontalot, Schaffer the Darklord, Marc with a C, Devo Spice, Benjamin Bear, MC Cool Whip, Krhyme574R0N3, and more… plus two $100 Visa gift cards!

Also, there’s a cosplay carwash headed by our own Sexy Scrubs model Kourtney followed by a Nerdcore concert featuring SCR artists in hopes of raising enough donations to teleport Kabuto The Python to Nerdapalooza! All we can tell you at this point is that the date for sure will be Saturday, June 12th at A Comic Shop in Winter Park, Florida! You better believe that the second we have the confirmed musicians, we will announce them here and on the official Facebook page for the event.

All proceeds from the donations collected at the car wash and concert will increase the fund to secure Kabuto The Python’s performing spot at this year’s NAPSE.

And lastly, we want to thank all of you who have been giving unbelievable amounts of your hard-earned money to our cause lately. Your donations to our central PayPal account have been adding up, and with it, we will be able to afford much more awesome merch, travel abilities, equipment, and show creations.

With any overflow from the two fundraising attempts we’ve already mentioned, I myself (MadHatter) will be added in the mix of performers at Nerdapalooza. If you would like to help me get there to rock some faces and kick some ass at Marvel vs Capcom 2, then please feel free to donate via the PayPal button on the right side of our main page (also found on each of our album pages).

But – and this is important – make sure to label your donation as “Nerdapalooza fund” or something similar in the notes section as you go through the checkout process. All unlabeled donations will be considered general donations into our central fund rather than for the Nerdapalooza travel for this year.

Any overflow from everything you see above? Well, then we start working on another artist, and so on. But of course, with the event only being two months away, time is of the essence and airfare rises every day!

Also, feel no fear in donating – If the artists above can’t make it or we don’t end up raising enough money, we will contact you with the option of either a refund or placement in the central fund. It will be your choice.

We are always open for sponsorhips as well. If you know of an entity that would love to sponsor an artist in exchange for advertising, definitely contact us and we may be able to work something out.

Remember, there are already a good portion of Scrub Club musicians hitting up this year’s Nerdapalooza. But if your favorite artist is one of the ones listed above, they are in danger of not being able to make it this year, and only your donations (no matter how large or small) can add up to bring them there.
