Hell yeah. I lost 11 pounds the first week! I know the results will probably start slowing down at this point, but I’m extremely proud of myself and my fellow adventurers.
My diet has drastically changed, and thanks to my wife’s amazing cooking, that’s been an actual pleasure. Also, getting daily exercise is something of a miracle compared to my past… I’ve already starting noticing results: My kneecaps aren’t sliding out as much. I walk a little straighter. My endurance for walking and being out in the heat have gotten a lot better. My breathing has improved. I’ve started sweating a lot less. My complexion is clearing up. With more sleep, I’ve been waking up earlier and much more easily. The days seem to flow in a perfect schedule.
In other words, I’m loving this, and it’s just the first week! What will my healthy results be in three months? How much better can I actually feel?! Amazing. I can’t wait.
I did have an interesting experience on Friday, however. My wife and I decided to take a trip to celebrate our anniversary, and one of the places we wanted to eat was Chipolte. Now, while their meats and vegetables are fantastic in quality, their burritos still top out over 1,000 calories depending on your toppings. Instead, I splurged a bit and had a bowl (no tortilla) with no sour cream and only a bit of cheese. It was delicious, but my body told me I needed to eat MOAR MOAR MOAR. I felt almost like I was starving for the next hour or so, and I noticed my appetite had grown a lot the rest of the day. Was it because I used to pig out there and was used to eating a gigantic burrito until I burst? Did the flavor play a trick on my brain and appetite? I’m not sure, but that really sucked. First time I’ve had this type of horrid desire to cheat since starting Gain HP. It’s finally gone again, but whew. What a sneak attack. At least I didn’t give in, no way.
I have not been under 270 in years and years. I’m really, really looking forward to seeing a 269 or lower on that scale. I’ll really start to feel the kick-in then. It’s a long shot, but all in all in the end, I’d love to be 250 or 240, which is my optimal weight. I guess we’ll see…
My next update will contain the current leader and other details about the first week! I’m excited to tabulate all my players out there! Stay tuned!
