The tale of a true legion of supervillains

The history of the Sinister Six starts a lot longer ago then you’d imagine. Back in 2004, MadHatter wanted to convince rappers to stop having pointless beefs in his town of Wichita, Kansas by putting together a special project – Take six of the best emcees in the city and release an album together, a sign of unity. After a single meeting between the members, recording began. These original members were Bloody Hands, Nathan Slimm, Cadence, MadHatter, Phatboi 2000, and XV. However, it was hard to schedule everyone together for studio time and the project entered stasis just three unreleased tracks later.

Four years later, Hatter decided not to let this dream die and try to start it again for the Nerdcore community. There was a new cast of characters: ZeaLouS1, YTCracker, Benjamin Bear, MadHatter, Shelshocker, and Big Stephen. But before mass recordings began, there were issues with Shelshocker and Stephen being able to commit to the album time-wise, and they were replaced with MC_Loki and Chester, who rounded out the final lineup.

It took almost a year to record all the parts and for Hatter to mix them all together due to everyone’s busy schedule, but finally it was complete. A Nerdcore army attacking all at once from one single album. And it was an epic group.

They were all present and set to be able to perform at Nerdapalooza 2009 in Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately YTCracker was struck with sickness that year. Two tracks were still performed live that year with MadHatter covering his verses.

That lineup disbanded after the album was released, never planning to keep it a stable group for more projects… But who knows when those mic snatchers known as the Sinister Six will return with new faces…
